Understanding As Built Drawing - Archdailycom
Although it seems that as built drawing is simple, it turns out that there are not a few who misunderstand or complicate the provisions in making or processing this image. This article is refreshed for us to understand about As Built Drawing.
There are some references to the As built Drawing, namely:
Pictures that are in accordance with the implementation in the field. (Www.bppk.depkeu.go.id)
The actual image of the implementation after the fieldwork process is completed. (www.bppk.depkeu.go.id)
The final set of completion projects of a construction project (www.wisegeek.com)
Revised set of drawings submitted by a contractor upon completion of a project or a particular job. They reflect all changes made in the specifications and working drawings during the construction process, and exact dimensions, geometry, and location of all work completed under the contract. Also called record drawings or just as-builts. (www.businessdictionary.com)
It is common for the client to require that as-built drawings be prepared, either during construction or construction is complete, to reflect what has actually been built. The contract will generally mark up changes to the "final construction issue" drawings on the site using red ink, and these can be used by the consultant team to create record drawings showing the completed project. This information may be supplemented by as-built surveys. (www.designingbuildings.co.uk)
From a number of references above, the definition of As Built Drawing is quite simple, namely an image created according to the conditions built in the field that has adopted all the changes that occur (specifications and drawings) during the construction process that show the actual dimensions, geometry and location of all project element. The purpose of this picture is as a guideline for building operations made from shop drawings where it has adopted changes made during construction where the changes are specifically marked. As Built Drawing is made by the contractor with the approval of the Service Provider / Owner through a check process by the supervisor consultant.
With the aim of operating guidelines, of course As Built Drawing does not need to be as detailed as a shop drawing whose purpose is to develop the required basis for details. important specs that must be considered are the communication objectives of the two images. The Shop Drawing aims at complete information on how to build, while As Built Drawing aims for information on operating guidelines. An example of a beam reinforcement image, sometimes it is necessary to detail the distribution of reinforcement or bending of reinforcement on all beams. But this picture is simply replaced with a drawing standard. The level of detail of the two images is determined by the purpose of the information on the functions of the two images.
However, there is always something wrong in perceiving this image. Some real cases based on experience are listed below:
As Built Drawing becomes a part of work progress items with certain weights. This case sometimes happens. Obviously this is the wrong thing because As Built Drawing is done when the job has finished. If it is considered part of the job, progress will be difficult to reach 100%. Making As Built Drawing itself takes a lot of time. As a result, the process of achieving 100% progress will delay far enough.
As Built Drawing is only approved if all construction documents are complete. This case occurs because of mixing between the construction and post-construction processes. It is true that the implementation of construction must be accompanied by supporting documents. But this is not an As Built Drawing approval requirement because this image is only a record of work results.
Image of a factory such as a pump, a machine, the panel was requested as Built Drawing. The purchased goods are made (not made), not the details of shop drawings or As Built Drawing, but catalogs / manual books that have been provided by the factory. Misperception where all must be made As Built Drawing occurs due to errors in understanding the meaning of project document communication. The existence of a manual book issued by the factory is certainly more detailed and does not need to be redrawn. With the manual book on the project elements like that, the depiction of As Built Drawing can be simplified with the symbolic form of a standard tool and does not need to be detailed.
